Every year, thousands of South African learners qualify for university admission, yet many do not secure placement immediately. For many families, this creates uncertainty, pressure, and confusion about what comes next after matric.
In response to this growing challenge, the Nkoebe Motlhajoa Foundation launched the Beyond University Admission Initiative –a youth-focused education guidance platform aimed at helping learners and parents better understand post-school pathways, opportunities, and decision-making beyond traditional university admission.
The initiative brings together voices from across the education sector, including:
- Secondary school leadership
- University representatives
- TVET and alternative pathway perspectives
- Youth development and mentorship stakeholders
The goal is simple:
To provide practical guidance, clarity and reassurance to learners and families navigating life after matric.
